Housser's Paint and Decorating have your windows covered with Hunter Douglas, Elite, Grabber and faAB, high quality, custom window coverings for your home. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will help you find the perfect window covering.
Window blinds will give you the most options and control over the light in your room. Blinds are considered a 'hard' window covering because they are constructed from opaque materials like wood, metal or vinyl. When it comes to controlling the light in your room you have the options to raise, lower or tilt the blinds in order to allow full, partial or almost no exterior light into the room.
Window shades differ from blinds as a 'soft' window covering, being made from large swaths of soft fabric. Shades are great for diffusing the light coming through your windows, but modern designs have added more flexibility akin to window blinds. Modern shade designs have energy efficiency qualities, reducing heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer. There are many different styles of window shades available, visit us in-store to view our displays and talk with our expert staff.
If being handy just isn't your thing, we can take care of the installation. When you're talking with one of our staff, be sure to let them know you'll need installation services and they'll give you all the details.
We offer in-home consultations for window coverings too. Just fill out our online form or talk to any of our in-store staff.
We have questions, you have answers.
When you decide to talk to the Housser's staff about new window coverings we always ask the following questions.
1. Are you looking to block as much light as possible from entering your room?
The industry term is black-out. Not all window coverings are designed to black-out the light entering through a window. By answering yes or no our staff will be able to present you with the options best suited to your light-blocking needs.
2. Do you want corded, cordless or motorized window coverings?
Once you start looking for window coverings you will be surprised at the number of options. You're not just stuck with the old-school corded Venetian blinds anymore. We can show you the products that will fit your design aesthetic or if you are unsure our staff will gladly show you the options available in today's modern window covering market.
3. Do you have some rough measurements?
Take a few minutes before you drive to our store to take some rough measurements of your windows. This will allow our staff to provide you with some ball-park estimates. Once you've made a decision we'll send someone to your house to make the required accurate measurements.
Hunter Douglas has led the industry in creating the highest quality, innovative window coverings for homeowners. We are committed to building the highest quality, custom-made window coverings. Our products provide solutions for everyday, practical needs-from privacy to safety to light control-while also satisfying your desires for a stylish furnishing that transforms your home.

Ingenuity and Integrity in Window Treatments Since 1939
It was 1939 when John Graber invented what would become the very first example of Graber craftsmanship. After installing Venetian blinds in his home in Middleton, Wisconsin, he realized his drapes looked oddly unbalanced. He went on to create a sturdy metal bracket that he called the Badger Drapery Crane, named after the animal that symbolizes his home state.
Through his innovation and insight, Graber elevated the standards for window treatments. His helpful device, realized with quality materials and good old-fashioned know-how, made its way throughout the Midwest, and eventually all over the world.
More than eight decades later, you can find John Graber’s spirit of ingenuity and craftsmanship in every Graber window treatment.
