Our Story

Housser's Paint & Wallpaper first opened it's doors on May 1, 1984 in a small shop in downtown Orillia. In December 1988 we moved to the present location at 87 Colborne St. W. Since moving here we have added a two story addition and in recent years added an offsite warehouse. With a staff of 5 full-time and 3 part-time we have become a full service, well sought out store for thousands of regular customers. We have a strong commercial account presence in our community servicing many painters, general contractors, and cabinet shops. We are also a well respected supplier with many designers and specifiers in Orillia and the surrounding area.
Our success has been built on customer service, quality products, and innovation. Our goal "is to make your next visit to our store the best part of your day".

Nathan Housser
The Paint business was engraved into Nathan from a very young age. His father, James Housser has owned the business since 1984 so Nathan has been around the paint store from birth. He worked at the store throughout high school, and while attending Georgian College. He went on further to complete a degree in Business Administration from Northwood University.
After receiving his degree, Nathan returned home to work full time as the general manager of the family business. Within a few years, he has begun to invest into the business and is now a part owner. Nathan has a passion for business but in particular the Paint & Decor business. His goal is to continue growing the business much as his father has continued to do as the years have passed.
Nathan believes with strong customer service, well trained staff, innovation, and great products the business will continue to be successful.

What I love about Painting & Decorating
What I love most about painting & decorating is getting to know new clients and helping them see the potential their home has to offer. I love how easy it is to transform a space with a fresh coat of paint, a new accent pillow or even a cool new piece of art. I’m truly passionate about helping my clients absolutely fall in love with their homes again.

Great Achievements
In the past two years I have had a hand in several different client redesigns. From bathroom renovations, major additions, a new home build, and a whole home decorating refresh, I have been an integral part of design and decorating decisions both large and small. It's so rewarding to participate in making a clients house their home. I also attended the 3 year interior design program at Georgian College as a way of introduction into the industry.
What I love about Paint & Decorating
Everything! But seriously...I'm a decorating junkie! I love transforming a bland room into a space that feels good to be in.
Favorite Benjamin Moore Colour
Oh my gosh, only one?! I guess right now it would be BM# 566. The perfect green, somewhere between kelly and emerald, with a touch of grey to keep it livable. Looks equally amazing with crisp white, sandy neutral or rich navy. For fun throw in a small dose of flamingo pink or turquoise!

Great Achievements
After my completion with honors of the interior decorating program through Georgian college, I went on to paint beautiful cottages throughout Muskoka. On my own I have accomplished large exterior projects; maintaining a confederation log home exterior, with its prestigious and beautifully rich woods, repainting an old Victorian-style brick home from 1872, as well as bringing warmth and a sense of “home” to a few first-home buyers.
What I love about Painting and Decorating
Throughout my experiences painting and here with Benjamin Moore has given me a strong appreciation for the challenges that come with renovating, decorating and painting. It’s always a new experience, different homes, layout challenges, and colour palettes the clients prefer, the hands-on aspect, as well as seeing the huge reveal at the end and seeing the changes that bring all the pieces and details together into a beautiful harmonious space.
